Flow Cytometry Facility https://www.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/research/facilities/flow-cytometry/

Our Flow Cytometry Facility offers researchers access to multiparameter cell analysis equipment, including fluorescence, imaging and mass cytometry.
Services on offer to the community:
[1] Mass cytometry (Helios-CyTOF from Fluidigm) analyses single cells labelled with rare earth metal-conjugated antibodies in a manner similar to standard flow cytometry. By utilising metal tagging and atomic mass detection we overcome the limitation of fluorescence and can detect nearly 40 antibodies on a single sample. This enables samples that comprise a number of different types of cells (eg blood or tissue) to be analysed for cell-type and functional markers (eg cell cycle, signalling etc) together. Mass cytometry is ideal for collecting information from precious samples or from samples that are highly autofluorescent. We also offer an antibody conjugation service for metal tagging antibodies.
Details can be found at http://bit.do/cytof144
[2] Imaging cytometry (ImageStreamX (ISX) from Amnis) collects high-resolution images of fluorescently labelled cells. The ISX can collect up to 9 colours per sample and offers the throughput of flow cytometry with the imaging power of fluorescence microscopy. Visual parameters such as size, shape, localisation and cell-cell interactions can be performed quickly on large numbers of cells.
