Description

Small Items of Research Equipment at Newcastle University: Developing the Research Base in Healthcare Technologies, Sustainability and Digital Economy (SIREN)

To establish a state-of-the-art research equipment pool, SIREN was funded by the EPSRC (Reference: EP/K031678/1) to purchase a suite of small items of research equipment at Newcastle University. The award has significantly enhanced the research capabilities across three research Themes in the University that are of considerable importance to society: Healthcare Technologies; Sustainability; and the Digital Economy (HT-S-DE). More than 90 items have been purchased, installed and managed in a coordinated way to effectively support activities of the research communities, particularly the Early Career Researchers (ECRs), and furthermore expand research interests in new areas. It is envisaged that the equipment pool would continuously benefit the research communities to a great extent. All items are strategically located in accordance with the corresponding Academic Unit. Should there be any interest or enquiry on a particular research item, please contact directly the host who is responsible for the item.
